It’s another week in the warm sunshine of London. Still having the barbecues, drinking rum, mojitos, margaritas or some sweet jelly coconuts, only thing short is the cool sea breeze, but add some Latin vibes and were already on holiday. Schools are closing for the summer holidays, so what’s better than having Latin Flavors add some salsa is in the air with. Happy birthday greetings Nadine and Sandra.

Monday Night Salsa is at Le Petit Perisien in Camberwell, Tuesday night salsa at Inn on the green, has moved temporary for 2 weeks to Crown Moran Hotel Bar in Cricklewood and Wednesday night salsa at Excelsior Club is the place to be for a great midweek night of salsa dancing.

Here is a date to add to the diaries, a new monthly Friday night Kizomba and Zouk night called Afrocentric will start on 27^th August and every last Friday thereafter.

Cubans Fret Over Food Ration Cuts

Peas and potatoes have become the harbingers of change in Cuba as President Raul Castro chips away at some of the Cuban revolution's most hallowed social programs.

Without a word, the two vegetables were removed this month from the subsidized food ration Cubans have received since 1963 and prices shot up in what people fear was a glimpse of the future. Many view it as the first step toward the end of the ration program, known here as the "libreta," and possibly other government subsidies that Castro has complained are too costly for the cash-strapped government and discourage productivity.
